Exterior House Painting

Painting houses on the outside comes with a set of challenges that you are not going to have in indoor painting. Pretty much everyone knows that there are different strategies for painting outdoors. We don’t want to say that we are going to be using different types of paint, because a lot of times that may not be true. What we may have to do though is to use more coatings to cover certain areas. Also, for the most part on the outside, we are going to be painting stucco walls or other types of surfaces and not drywall. That is certainly something that we are going to need to take into account.

What Painting Methods Do You Use?

We are usually not fully committed to a single painting method. A lot of people want to say that using paint sprayers is the new way to go. It saves everyone time. There are situations though where we would be wasting a lot more paint this way and we won’t be able to provide such a good finish. For some places, we may use a paint roller for other areas we may use a brush. Even within the same project. As we mentioned we are not in a committed relationship with any method.

How is Painting Stucco Different To Painting Drywall?

The process of painting may not be all that different. Sometimes stucco can absorb a little more paint. So what we are going to have to do is just add another coating. There are a lot of benefits though to painting stucco that you are going to be able to obtain. One of them being that it is actually going to absorb less moisture when it is freshly painted. This can really help you avoid all sorts of problems down the line.

Getting To All Those Hard To Reach Places

There are going to be certain places that we are going to be able to get to with the help of a ladder. A lot of times there is really no way around that. In other cases, though we are going to have to find way more creative ways to get to other hard to reach places. That is when using a variety of painting methods is going to come in handy. Although we may be able to hand from the side of your home like skyscraper window washers we may have to use a paint sprayer from time to time. It is not like we are going to be improvising we want to have everything set up ahead of time.

How Often Should I Paint My House?

Some paint jobs are going to last a couple of years others can last decades. Also washing your home from the outside con allow your paint job to last a little while longer. Mostly we would say that somewhere around once every 5 years is a decent average. Again, there are a lot of factors that could come into play. So it is hard to pin down a date.
